PHS Department Chair's Letter
The EDI Committee evaluates the department's current practices, develops appropriate solutions to advance EDI priorities, and works to implement and monitor change. Our committee is open to all members of the PHS community, and aims to have representation from students, postdoctoral scholars, staff, and faculty.
The EDI committee supports PHS in achieving the following objectives:
- Recruit a diverse faculty, staff, and trainee population, and develop a pipeline for students underrepresented in population health sciences.
- Support and retain faculty, staff, and trainees by creating a safe and equitable work environment where all individuals feel a sense of belonging.
- Train the next generation of scientists to recognize and address inequities and health disparities.
- Ensure that our policies are not biased and that our guiding values are clearly articulated both internally and externally.
- Increase local community engagement by promoting opportunities for service and action, and supporting research that engages diverse local communities.
- Use our knowledge of, expertise in, and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) to be leaders in our health system, broader academic institution, and fields of study for promoting EDI.

A Black-owned small business headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Diversity.com has been a leader in the diversity jobs market since 2000. A job search site for people of color, women and people with disabilities, Diversity Job Board allows you to create an online profile, search for jobs by location, industry and experience, and sign up for job alerts. BLACK CAREER WOMEN’S NETWORK
A comprehensive career development site, Black Career Women’s Network offers access to a free job board, coaching, mentoring and a local community of professional Black women. You can search for jobs by category and everything from contract employment to full-time employment and volunteer opportunities are available.
The Black Career Women’s network also provides Career Smarts 365, an all-inclusive group coaching program for Black women. In addition, you’ll find mentorship opportunities to help teach you about increasing your marketability, job searching and salary negotiation.

Professional Diversity Network is a professional association and a job search site. It includes several culturally distinct job boards such as the Asian Career Network and IHISPANO.
