I place great importance on and find deep meaning in mentoring and mentored research. I'm dedicated to equipping my mentees with the skills needed to conduct rigorous and impactful research. My mentoring approach extends beyond their professional growth. I firmly believe in nurturing their holistic development by encouraging them to lead fulfilling, meaningful, and purpose-driven lives that resonate with their individuality and uniqueness.

Peer Mentor, Benjamin Steinberg, University of Utah

I helped Dr. Steinberg develop his research path and prepare his K23 proposal which was funded on it's first submission (NHLBI-1K23HL143156-01 -Optimizing Outcomes For Patients With Heart Failure And Atrial Fibrillation. I am now advising Dr. Steinberg on his efforts to achieve his goal of successfully making the K to R01 transition.

Trainee's Current Career Activities: Dr. Steinberg is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Section of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.

I am now advising Dr. Tonna on his efforts to achieve his goal of successfully making the K to R01 transition.

Trainee's Current Career Activities: Dr. Joseph Tonna, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah with appointments in the Divisions of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Emergency Medicine.

Trainee's Current Career Activities: Rashmee U. Shah, MD MS is an Assistant Professor in Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She has been on tenure track faculty at the University of Utah since 2014.
