We are pleased to announce Angie Fagerlin and Elissa Ozanne have received a four-year American Heart Association funding of 5 million for Winter 2018 Atrial Fibrillation Strategically Focused Research Network PCORI –AHA/ASA DECIDE Center titled STudying Effectiveness in Patient-centered care (STEP UP).
The goal of this DECIDE center, in partnership with the Mayo Clinic, is to enhance shared decision making between patients, clinicians, and care givers on whether oral anticoagulants should be used and which would best match patient preferences and goals. This will involve the development and testing of a decision aid on atrial fibrillation and the training of fellows to prepare a new generation of MD, PharmD, and PhD scientists dedicated to shared decision making for atrial fibrillation.
Congratulations Drs Fagerlin and Ozanne!
