Please join us for the second annual University of Utah Translational Hypertension Symposium held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, from 8:00 am-6: 30 pm, in the Ivory Room of the Thomas S. Monson Center (411 E S Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84111).
With the new 2017 ACC/AHA blood pressure guidelines reclassifying millions of Americans with hypertension and recommending lower blood pressure thresholds for antihypertensive medication initiation and intensification compared to previous guidelines, clinicians and healthcare systems are determining how to best implement the new recommendations. Meanwhile, the diverse impacts on individual patients and healthcare systems are still being discovered.
The 2018 symposium addresses these topics and more. Featured speakers include:
- Keynote speaker Paul Whelton, Chair of the 2017 ACC/AHA Blood Pressure Guideline Writing Committee
- Nick Pajewski, who will present the SPRINT-MIND results
- Daichi Shimbo and Paul Muntner, who will discuss the future of blood pressure measurement
- Kathleen Lynch, who will present the BARBER-2 study
